Riding the Waves

The adventure today started with a pleasant drive to Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula and catching the Sorrento-Queenscliff ferry. The green frog was left in a sunny safe spot in Sorrento while the Diva sailed across to Queenscliff to have lunch with the Crown Prince.

Arriving on the other side of the bay appeared to be the portal to another planet.

It really is Queenscliff as the Diva, the Crown Prince and all their friends enjoyed a delightful brunch at The Hobson's Bay Garden Cafe and wandered along the enchanting streets riddled with cafes and lots of shoppes chock full of goodies.

The next photo is especially for Pegasus.

And now a little reminder

Whoops nearly forgot a picture of the ferry!

A New Adventure

A crisp sunny morning was the perfect invitation to Pegasus to take off with the green frog on a new adventure along the Eastlink Freeway. A highlight along the way was the entrance to the Melba Tunnel. Through it or over it.....? That remains their secret. What do you think?

Onwards to the airport, on a most special mission, being very careful not to cause too many headaches for air traffic controllers.

The Crown Prince was arriving for his holidays, to be spent with the King and Queen and their Princesses. A smooth flight via the New Planet for brunch and the happy family were reunited.

A Little about Pegasus

Pegasus (ancient Greek Πήγασος / Pegasos, Latin Pegasus) is one of the best known fantastical creatures in Greek mythology. He is a winged divine horse, usually white in color. He was sired by Poseidon, in his role as horse-god, and foaled by the Gorgon Medusa. He was the brother of Chrysaor, born at a single birthing when his mother was decapitated by Perseus. Greco-Roman poets write about his ascent to heaven after his birth and his obeisance to Zeus, king of the gods, who instructed him to bring lightning and thunder from Olympus. Friend of the Muses, Pegasus is the creator of Hippocrene, the fountain on Mt. Helicon. He was captured by the Greek hero Bellerophon near the fountain Peirene with the help of Athena and Poseidon. Pegasus allows the hero to ride him to defeat a monster, the Chimera, before realizing many other exploits. His rider, however, falls off his back trying to reach Mount Olympus. Zeus transformed him into the constellation Pegasus and placed him in the sky. There are theories that ascribe the origin of Pegasus to Pihassassa, the ancient god of thunderstorms in Hittite mythology.
The symbolism of Pegasus varies with time. Symbol of wisdom and especially of fame from the Middle Ages until the Renaissance, he became one symbol of the poetry and the creator of sources in which the poets come to draw inspiration, particularly in the 19th century. Pegasus is the subject of a very rich iconography, especially through the ancient Greek pottery and paintings and sculptures of the Renaissance. Personification of the water, solar myth, or shaman mount, Carl Jung and his followers have seen in Pegasus a profound symbolic esoteric in relation to the spiritual energy that allows to access to the realm of the gods on Mount Olympus.

Day of Reminiscing

Today I have thought of my amazing trip to Europe in 2008. I left on the 29 September 2008 flying with Emirates. I had somewhat of a faux pas that taught me to be more careful in reading the 24 hour clock. Departure was 2100 hours which I read to be 11pm. (Don't ask!) Anyhow with the assistance of Fangio driving I made it to Tullamarine with enough time to have a seamless check in and on my way to Dubai.

The transfer at Dubai airport was soooo easy and on to my next leg with Emirates to Rome.

Just Another Day

Just the thing for a Monday morning is a drive on the windies between Mt Martha and Safety Beach. Doesn't matter what the weather there is always something new to see from this adventurous trip along this coast. Finish off with brunch in Mc Crae where there are plenty of cafes from which to choose.

Nice Nanny nap in the arvo....hmm.....

The Princess's Castle in Geelong

Play day in Geelong with two beautiful Princesses and a very intriguing castle. The King and Queen went out for the afternoon.

Check out the view as Pegasus galloped across the Westgate Bridge.

The green frog stayed out in the rain all day.

Saturday Brunch

The charm of Schnappers Cafe is unequalled for brunch. Poached eggs on wholemeal toast with avocado. Yum!

Pegasus stayed home today as the wind was a little too chilly.

P.O.E.T.S

Fabulous Friday...it never loses its appeal. P... Off Early Tomorow's Saturday.

The Diva travelled in the green machine through the magnificent hinterland of the Mornington Peninsula to Redhill and The Lindenderry Estate. http://www.lancemore.com.au/lindenderry/meetings/default-en.html

The purpose - to be massaged into oblivion at Endota Spa. http://www.endota.com.au/default.cfm?id=77
It worked!

Pegasus would love to run in these velvet green paddocks.

Joy, Sunshine and loads of Hope

Hi there travellers. Presenting Mornington on this glorious morning as all the yachts face towards the Mornington Yacht Club. I wonder if they will all still face this way if the 'Safe Boat Harbour' obtains approval from the 'powers that be'?

Trundling down Main Street I arrive at Paula's for brekkie. A small white china pot of Earl Grey Tea (smell the Bergamot) and multigrain toast with crunchy peanut butter. Not really boot camp fare but most enjoyable while I read the newspapers.

Love you Daddy.

Pegasus flew to Melbourne

Although Pegasus lives on the Gold Coast at the Meriton Apartments he took time out to fly to Melbourne and enjoy the new lush grass in the Botanical Gardens.

The road leads to the City of Melbourne

Today found the Diva visiting Parliament House in East Melbourne.

Check out this magnificent building by visiting and wandering around its hallowed halls. Take one of the guided tours.

Luncheon was taken at the Hu Tong dumpling bar in Market Lane Melbourne. http://tummyrumbles.com/2009/01/hu-tong-dumpling-bar.html

What a special place Melbourne is!

Travelling the unknown road

Today is a day of putting one foot in front of the other. Decaf long macchiato with extra froth (the Diva's special) sipped at The Rocks restaurant in Mornington Victoria. Table full of well dressed, expensive vehicled, loudly chortling people. I wasn't early enough to grab a paper and check up on the world.

Mornington pier is undergoing an extensive upgrade but the engineering works still dont detract from this Diva's paradise. Come on all you Diva's and your leading partners and order a decaf long macchiato with extra froth. I dare you!
